Show album title in playlist - trashheap - 01-17-2024
My music source is Samba. The playlist on the main screens shows all my songs, but does not show any album titles.
- Song Title
- Artist
The problem is that I have many songs by the same band, its impossible to see which song is from which album. Its just one giant list. Is there a method to add/change the meta data display on the playlist view so that I can add the Album title?

The problem might be room for displaying information.
In the playlist (if you edit it) there are artist, album and track names. In the now playing queue only track and artist.
BUT there is the album cover...

I don't quite understand your issue.
The Queue on the main Playback screen shows the Album cover for each track (unless Prefs, Queue thumbs is set to No) and so you should be able to tell which album the track belongs to by its cover art.

So, yes. This is slightly a terminology thing. The Queue (rather than playlist) on the main playback screen is what I am referring to.
In my case the cover thumbnail is commonly wrong. I know they are correctly embedded in the files, but they are displayed wrong throughout my collection and a single album cover is used for the entire band collection. Pushing that aside, I simply want to have it written clearly what the album name is in the queue.
for example:
#title
#artist - #Album
Currently there is tons of room, but I suspect no method to show this here.

Without meaning to teach you about keeping your library tidy, I suggest you keep every album in a separate folder. Then the cover art will make its way, correct for each one; regardless embedded, or by picture file in the folder.
The information is not written out, I do agree, but is nevertheless enough, IMO, to know what album the track belongs to.
You may see tons of room in your browser view, but the UI must accomodate also tablets and mobile phones, so there isn't indeed all that real estate you claim.

Whats the directory structure of your collection?
moOde expects the standard Artist/Album/Track structure

Yeah, I had guessed that the structure expects albums to be in folders. This is something I have never done, and its just not my way. I have everything named exceptionally well with good naming conventions. All the embedded meta is well setup. This structure is intentional and I prefer everthing to be flat.
So I assume that I have answered my own question, and this is not something I can make how I want it? Even if the album covers were correct, I can't read them little thumnails so it doesnt show me the title Im looking for.

The image, IMO could be enough to identify an album, even if just to know it's different from the previous.
But then again, until you put the albums into their respective folders the cover art is not going to help.
