Connect Pi/Hifiberry to external amp via USB - michdal - 03-29-2024 Hi, I bought a new amp, the Arcam A25. It has a USB-C input which can handle audio signals coming from a PC, Mac, etc. Unfortunately, I can't get any sound output when connected to my Pi 4/HifiBerry Digi+ Pro running Moode. https://www.arcam.co.uk/product,radia,integrated-amplifiers,a25.htm Ideas? RE: Connect Pi/Hifiberry to external amp via USB - Tim Curtis - 03-29-2024 For USB, open Audio Config, set both Named I2S device and DT overlay to "None". Reboot with USB Audio device plugged in and select/set it if it shows up in the "Output device" list. If it doesn't show up in the list then Linux/ALSA did not recognize the device. The HiFiBerry Digital+ Pro has nothing to do with this arrangement. On moOde’s Audio configuration screen, the Named I2S device and DT overlay choices should both be set to None (and moOde rebooted if necessary). Then, once connected via USB, your amp should show up in the pulldown menu of Output devices. I have no idea what name it will present. The amp may have to be set to USB input for it to be detected. Regards, Kent ETA - As often happens, I see Tim got his answer in while I was still typing RE: Connect Pi/Hifiberry to external amp via USB - michdal - 03-29-2024 Thanks, works fine! At first, I got serious problems with popping sounds during playback. They seem to be gone after disabling Wifi on the Pi. @Tim Curtis : It would be great if there was an option in Moode to switch between the audio HATs and USB Audio more easily or even run them simultaneously without disabling one of them.
