wrong audio info - georgew21 - 06-01-2024
Hello,
I use moode 9.0.1 and a motu m4 usb audio card with cammiladsp.
I have set m4 as default audio device.
In audio info I get this:

The music playing correctly to my M4 but why I get as device pi hdmi and iec958?
Need I to change any setting?

Reboot and then post the contents of the startup log.
The log can be viewed via the SSH command moodeutl -l or downloaded via the Logs section in System Config, or via Menu, System info from any of the Config screens. The startup log will be at the end of System info output.

The log shows

i HDMI 1"Which means that in Audio Config the Output device is still set to Pi HDMI 1.
Open the Output device dropdown list and select the MOTU device.

Yep, as I have already said in my first post I have already set MOTU as default output device. But the problem persists.
Another (related?) problem is that i use camilladsp and I have set in a yml file as the device "plughw:2,0".
Setting this everything work correctly, but for some reason every reboot this value changes to something else (probably hdmi) and I need to open camilladsp and edit this again to plughw:2,0, to play. I don't know why this value changes even I save the configuration to yml file.

It's not obvious to me what might be happening on your end. I'm not seeing this issue with my USB DAC.
After you set Output device to you MOTU DAC and before rebooting does everything work correctly?

The sounds plays fine, in audio info I see what I wrote on my first post. it's a little bizzare, but the annoying thing is that I need to edit the yml file through camilldsp configuration in every reboot.

I don't see how thats possible but in any case do the following.
After you set Output device to your MOTU DAC and before rebooting post two screen shots of Audio Config.
The first showing the entire Audio Output section
The second showing the entire ALSA options section

Very odd. These screen shots suggest some sort of weird breakage because although the Output device is set to your USB attached device the ALSA options are deal and the startup log still shows the Output device is Pi HDMI 1.
Your best hope is that someone else with a MOTU M4 can either post a success case or reproduce your issue and provide some insight into what might be happening.
