Boss 2 player after moode 9 update- stopped working - Akhil Vjn - 06-05-2024 Hi, Recently, I purchased an Allo Boss2 player, and it was working properly. The inbuilt version of the moode was some older one of 2020 or 2022 so, I updated the player to Moode version 9. After a few days of use, it stopped playing music. I heard some static noise while playing the music, so I suddenly stopped it. After that, the player stopped working and displayed the message "Output is set to HDMI but no audio device was detected on the HDMI port." The OLED display of the player shows "NO BOSS2". I have tried restarting the device multiple times and selecting the I2C device as Boss2 Player, but the output device option does not identify or show Boss2, even after multiple scans. Only HDMI options are available. The kernel version of the setup is 6.6.31+rpt-rpi-v8. Could you please help me identify the problem and find a solution? Thank you, Akhil RE: Boss 2 player after moode 9 update- stopped working - fdealexa - 06-06-2024 Hi Akhil, Would you please reboot the system and execute the following command: Code: moodeutl -l and send us the results? Regards, Francesco RE: Boss 2 player after moode 9 update- stopped working - Tim Curtis - 06-06-2024 The symptom "After a few days of use, it stopped playing music" suggests a hardware issue. IIRC you have to take apart the boss2 player to get at the SD Card. Try re-seating the boards and connectors and spray them with contact cleaner. RE: Boss 2 player after moode 9 update- stopped working - Tim Curtis - 06-06-2024 The log indicates the DAC has not been detected by Linux which suggests some sort of hardware issue. Thank you for your reply. Is it suggest that the dac board is damaged? RE: Boss 2 player after moode 9 update- stopped working - Akhil Vjn - 06-06-2024 Could you please tell me the GPIO pins that are used for Allo Boss 2 dac, then I can go for a continuity test for the connections. RE: Boss 2 player after moode 9 update- stopped working - fdealexa - 06-06-2024 Hello, Try with this link. Best regards, Francesco P.S.:I completely agree with Tim - it sounds like a DAC hardware failure |
