Using 3.5mm audio jack - scouture - 06-13-2024

Hi there,

First post beside "Introduce yourself" ...

I'm testing moOde to replace my SnapCast multiroom solution and starting up tests I'm blocked with being unable to use the 3.5mm Audio Jack on my Raspberry Pi 3B+...

The only audio devices that are listed in the Audio Output - Audio Devices pick list are "0: Pi HDMI 1" and "1: Pi HDMI 2"

I'm using Release 9.0.2 2024-06-12 and even change the /boot/firmware/config.txt file to include the options "dtparam=audio=on" and "audio_pwm_mode=1"

I understand this is not a case for real use (my other Raspberry are using HiFiBerry AMP2 and DAC2) but as stated, I'm on the moOde testing phase right now...

Anybody can use the Audio Jack with this version?

There is a change in underlying RPi Bookworm regarding onboard audio (Headphone jack) and there is a workaround provided by MoOde.

In the System tab navigate to 'Startup options' and choose 'Integrated audio' > ' Firmware mode Legacy'

Reboot and you should have Headphone jack audio

Thanks Bob, that solve my issue.

I can even see the 3.5mm Audio Jack option in raspi-config now!

It worked for me too! Now I'm going to look for an external DAC. :-)
