Newbie needs help: from DSI screen not working to SSH login - gattonero - 08-25-2024

Hello.

First of all, apologies if all this seems trivial and lots of things that have already been discussed, but I've not been able to pinpoint the exact cause...

I am running the latest version of Moode Audio, on a Raspberry Pi 3b+, and I am having problems with the touch screen attached via DSI.

Between several other SBCs, this is a Pi3 B+ that I've used a lot for various projects as Network Streamers. Got bored with Volumio, so went back to Moode Audio.
The system works, except the attached DSI screen (a 4.3" unbranded one, see "https://ae-pic-a1.aliexpress-media.com/kf/S33cd213390294927b33f8131ff1ede8c6.jpg") that either works ok but cannot rotate, or if I use the trick of changing to "Firmware mode: Legacy" in "configure-system-startup options " I get a screen that is rotated but it flickers and doesn't fit.

I'd like to solve this, but I cannot SSH in the system (also to backup several Favourite stations I've created, any hint how to do this?) because when using the Raspberry Imager I didn't choose "use password authentication" leaving "allow public authentication" with one of those RSA keys that I've never been able to understand (did I say I'm a newbie?)...

Long story short: this is becoming a domino effect thing. Perhaps the easiest thing to do is to flash the card with the Raspberry Imager settings to a password I've taken note of.
But before flashing the card, how can I save the favourite stations I've created?
I've got another pc running Linux, so it's not a problem to read the contents of the card, as long as I know where to look for (not interested in saving the thumbnails).

Many thanks in advance!

Use the Backup feature on the System Config screen. Select "Other stations" to backup just the stations you created.
