Moode interface inaccesible after a period of inactivity - xthursdayx - 11-14-2018

Has anyone else who leaves their moOde player on all the time found that after a period of inactivity (say from one evening until the following afternoon) the http://moode/ web interface becomes inaccesible, and tries to take you to http://ww17.moode.com/, and requires a reboot?

Do you know why this might happen?

Very odd.

The symptom suggests something external to moOde software since none of the strings below exist in the moode code base and thus its not possible that moiOde software itself is redirecting to that url.

"ww17"
"moode.com"

I have three different moOde installs running 24/7. In the past two plus years the only time I have had an issue such as you describe was due to trouble with my wifi router. I changed router earlier this year and have not had problem you describe.

Hmmm, okay, strange. It doesn't happen all of the time, so it's not that big of a deal, just strange.

It does indeed happen over wifi, so perhaps it has something to do with my router as @Onionhead suggests, though my router is a high quality Asus model... Who knows.

I'll update if I end up figuring it out.

If I use moode.local to access the interface, it becomes non-responsive after a period of non-use. Sometimes it takes several seconds to "wake-up." If I use the IP address, I don't have a problem.

I assume it is a router issue.

The symptom suggests some sort of network issue.

The .local domain uses multicast DNS (mDNS) queries.
