Windows Hidden SMB Shares no Longer Supported? - eDad2003 - 08-30-2024 Finally upgrading from moOde 8 to 9 (specifically 9.0.8). Thanks to everyone who made this upgrade possible! Anyway, I like to use hidden SMB shares in Windows. They are created like any other share, they just end in "$" and therefore their presence is not broadcast when other computers search for available shares. When I try to add the share - say 192.162.X.X/Music$, I am taken to a page (http://moode/response400.html#manual-server)Â displaying: Code: HTTP 400 Bad request Looking at moode.log, I seeing the following: Code: 20240829 132524 SECCHK: Invalid characters detected, transaction blocked It's something new with moOde 9. Is this intended, or could it be fixed? TIA RE: Windows Hidden SMB Shares no Longer Supported? - Tim Curtis - 08-30-2024 It's a security improvement for moOde that prevents dangerous command shell characters from being injected into PHP form data. This and previous security improvements for example removing all embedded userid's and passwords from the release image are a benefit for everyone. Whats the usage scenario where a music share needs to be hidden? RE: Windows Hidden SMB Shares no Longer Supported? - Nutul - 09-01-2024 try Music%24 |
