Audio setup page gives HTTP 500 - Paccidat - 10-06-2024

I just did a fresh install on my audio player PI, and got rid of the version 8.x.x. from may 2022 that I still had running.

I installed 9.1.2  through rpi-imager as advertised. After install I am indeed presented with the Moode interface in my webbrowser, which looks good...
Then I try to do my configuration and click on configure -> audio.. The I am presented with an HTTP 500... in chromium.

In firefox the screen is just empty/white

http://192.168.2.xxx/snd-config.php  is the url i use (xxx is of course te local IP mood is on..)

Because of this I decided to try it once more. Did another fresh vanilla install.... same issue... What's up?

Other config pages seem to work, but system also behaves badly as it keeps on jumping to NFS mounting option. I am not even using NFS..

After a while the whole thing freezes up and gives me "system busy"

Reboot and then post the contents of the startup log.

The log can be viewed via the SSH command moodeutl -l or downloaded via the Logs section in System Config, or via Menu, System info from any of the Config screens. The startup log will be at the end of System info output.

I don't even get the chance to enable SSH access. Shortly after startup I can not access any config screens anymore.

Did you follow all the steps in the Setup Guide: 4. Imager Tutorial?
Theres a link to the Setup Guide on the Download page at moodeaudio.org.

So now I entered some options in the rpi-imager setup and enabled SSH from there...

For some reason and after a number of reboots, I can now interact withe the device. ..Maybe I have hardware issue. It complains about under-voltage

Update: after replacing the official Raspberry pi PSU with a geneirc one Under volt meassages have dissappeared.. :-(

Every thing seems fine now. Still puzzled that I needed to edit de parampeters in rpi-imager for it to work.

Does this mean that it will not work if you don't edit settings in rpi imager?

OK.. Wasn't expecting that..

Correct.

We significantly improved the security of our release images for everyones benefit starting way back in March 2023 by removing default embedded userids and passwords and disabling SSH by default.

This follows the process used for official Raspberry Pi images and its done because any Images with default userid and passwords are highly vulnerable to malicious attacks.

Here is an excerpt from our 2023-03-14 release notes.

Code:

Security (New image only)

- UPD: The ISO image does not contain the userid pi, SSH service, WiFi SSID or
Access Point password. Refer to the moOde Setup guide for details on
      how to set these up.
