Progress circle missing with atached waveshare 7.9 hdmi screen - Magic66 - 11-17-2024
Till yesterday i was running 8.3.9 and everything worked well including the 7.9 waveshare hdmi display
After loading 9.1.4 i noticed that the progress circle around the song-time counter was missing on my Waveshare HDMI display. On the webinterface it is all good.
Tried allso a reflash without restoring my backup to see if the restore caused it but the circle keeps missing.
Not a big issue but more a nice feature

It's likely not the specific display. What model Pi?
There's a very long thread about the LocalUI service on Pi models prior to Pi 4B (9.1.2 Observation - LocalUI.service) which trashes thrashes his issue.
As a result of that discussion, Tim has added a new setting. Under m>Config>Peripherals look for the Disable GPU option and read the information provided.

I am using a RPI 3B+.
I read the long thread you mentioned to see what it is all about.
Disabling GPU fixes the issue for me.
