USB DAC, DSD and MoOde - Calaat - 11-26-2024 Hi: The other day i asked about DSD and I know my DAC can't do it, and i learn that there are some ESS DACs who can do it. I found that my DAP Hiby R2 has an ESS DAC, the ES9218, and the ability to work as USB DAC, so i tried it. I don't know if i have setup it correctly. If i read in the specs, it says it manage DSD up to 128, but i have not be able to make it work and the max it can play is 24/354 as my PCM 5242. So, i assume that the ES91218 can't play DSD either. I'm I correct? In the other hand, i was wondering if i can use the bluetooth of the Hiby R2, which have LDAC and aptX to cast my library in Hi-Res. that, will be something really nice. Thx you for the support. To setup the R2, i just changed the output audio, letting everything else as it was (so, with the I2S device as iQaudio DAC Pro), but i have made other tests putting it as none with the same result. I put a photo, just in case: https://imgur.com/a/msZ3Vnu Thx you for the support RE: USB DAC, DSD and MoOde - Tim Curtis - 11-26-2024 Change the Audio output to the R2 and then Menu > Audio info. - If the "Formats" field contains DSD_U32_BE then Native DSD is supported. - If not and the DAC specs say DSD is supported then open MPD Config and set Format to DoP. - Turn volume down on the Audio Device and try and play a DSF file. And Bluetooth LDAC through the DAP to. Thank you. |
