Display won't work - Zwompf - 01-28-2025
Hello,
I am new to Moode and I love it.
But I have a problem with my displays on a Raspberry Pi 3. I am using the latest installer from the Raspi Imager.
I have a 3.5-inch screen with a resolution of 480x320 and a 5-inch screen with 800x480.
When I install Moode and use one of the displays and boot up my Pi, the display shows the boot menu, but once Moode starts, nothing is displayed. I have tried modifying my /boot/firmware/config.txt with help from forum posts, but no luck.
I think the resolution of the 3.5-inch screen is too low.
Another thing I discovered is that when I connect a full HD monitor to the Pi, Moode displays correctly. If I then reconnect the 5-inch or 3.5-inch screen, it continues to show the moode display. But after a reboot, it stops working again.
I think I’m just missing a really simple config.
Can someone help me?

Are these HDMI displays? What make and model? LInks to technical info about them?
Does "latest installer..." mean you're working with moOde 9.2.3?
As an aside, much information about making modifications to config.txt is out of date with the introduction of moOde 9.x based on the Bookworm version of RPiOS. Always better to ask than to assume.
As another aside, I wouldn't waste my time with a 3.5-in display. IMHO it's too small for moOde's webUI and too fiddly for touch screen usage. I have an old one I play with once in a while to explore thoughts about alternative displays akin to an expanded version of what the 128x64 OLED display users are doing (See FAQ and Guides section of this Forum). Mostly, I just keep it in my drawer of (almost) forgotten toys.

I have moOde 9.2.3
The display is a 5 inch HDMI Display. It has a XPT2046 Touch controller. The display is from ELECROW.

a little update. My 5 Inch display is now working. I tried a another hdmi connector. And now Moode finds the right resolution without me doing anything.
