Problem: Bluetooth - only SBC codec listed

Thanks. Yes it does seem like it's the headphones defaulting to SBC. I've connected them to a MacOS device and in the console log I can see it establishes an AAC connection with the headphones. So I'll keep on playing around and see what I can get working.

Hi Mark,

No idea why LDAC is not detected for your device. If supported it should normally be listed in the "Available codecs" section of the bluealsa-cli output, even if something else is negotiated as "Selected codec".

It should still be possible to establish at least an AAC connection (like in MacOS) with the help of the following guide:
https://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=5583

AAC support is not compiled into Moode's default bluealsa package, probably because the AAC codec library stems from "non-free" branch of Debian (indicating potential licence issues).

By the way, the bluealsa output you posted ("Selected codec: SBC:24150227") indicates that dual-channel/XQ mode could be activated for your device ("4" instead of "1" at the second place). You already get an enhanced bitrate for the SBC connection (see e.g. http://soundexpert.org/articles/-/blogs/...udio-codec).

Best regards
Jens
