Solved: New Radio logo does not store
#1
Hi all,
I am having problem to store or change the logo for added radio station with the last release (8.3.9). Would you please be so kind to try to configure or change a new radio station (added with +) logo? It looks like the user write permission of the radio-logos directory does not allow to do that.
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Francesco

Hi Francesco,

I do it all the time when I manually add stations, and the logo gets properly added. I prepare it as JPEG, never tried with PNGs or other fancy formats though...
I also remember to have replaced a couple of them, as I found better / more accurate ones. You need to clear the browser's cache, of course...

TTYTT I've never done with the latest release yet...

IIRC the Browser doesn't always expire these small images from its cache very quickly.

If you are using Chrome open the Browser Javascript console and then in the Browser, right click the refresh icon and select "Empty cache and hard reload"

Curious. Creating new radio stations with logo image is working in moOde 8.3.9 for me.

When you "CHOOSE" a logo image in the New station modal, does a tiny thumbnail of it appear to the right? Then you should be good to go. Do you get a error message such as "Image format must be JPEG" or "Image must be less than 1MB in size" instead? (That's the same information you get if you click on the i-icon.) No new radio logo will be stored when you click "Create" at this point.

@Tim Curtis

I just noticed a cosmetic issue.

These error messages persist in the cached page in my browser (Firefox or Chrome). If I try to choose a PNG image. for example, which results in the "Image format must be JPEG" message being displayed, then if I cancel the new station creation and again click "+" to create a new station, the message is still displayed in the modal. I have to reload the current page (e.g., clear the browser cache) to make it go away. That, in turn, throws me out of the New station modal and back to the Radio browser. Hope this makes sense. I call it a cosmetic issue since I can still choose an image in an acceptable format and size and drive on.

Kent

Modals and these small images seem to get stuck in Browser caches for some reason. It's been like that since way, way back.

I think at some point we tried various HTML header options and PHP options but none of that seemed to help. In the end the fix is to  clear the Browser cache or wait long enough for these objects to be expired from the cache. Something like that.

Hi everyone,
thanks for the replies, most have already been tested but unfortunately with no results.
After much testing I discovered the reason: the station name contained a comma (","). Changing it with a period (".") solved the problem.
Please note that if the stations import has done as massive (station_manager), the problem does not exist.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience, which took up some of your precious time.
Thank you very much again and best regards,
Francesco

I can add to TODO list to not allow comma ub station name.
