[SOLVED] moode 8.3.0 - HDMI local display does not work

Hi all,
I am using Moode on a Pi4 connected to an external hdmi display and it has always worked flawlessly.
Only an issue we discussed on a different thread regarding a weird lag or error switching among the tracks.

Just because of that I wanted to try, on a new SD card, the latest release. (Sd card flashed two times, same result) 
It's really fast and smooth, but even when I enable from the setting menu the local hdmi display it doesn't start.
I've updated the config.txt with the setting I am always using (resolution, display type etc) and I can make the display work on the boot.
I can see all the booting messages but as soon as the system is ready the display remains black.

No hardware modification, only swapping SD card.

Do I miss something in the settings?

I may be wrong, but as you will see, in Configuration => Audio the output device is either "PI Headphone Jack" or another USB / HAT audio device; so no, it is not possible.

Don't you have an amplifier after it, which might have a headphone out? Or do you feed powered / active speakers with it (which, depending on the model / purpose, might offer a headphone jack too)?

In a test just now, HDMI local display with moOde 8.3.0 on an RPi4B works here. Please post the info Tim asked for.

As an aside, if you're familiar with the Linux command line you can do some debugging of your own by examining the contents of log files such as /var/log/syslog and /var/log/Xorg.log.0 for error messages related to the X11 server.

No, my Audio Research preamp and Krell power amp have no headphone output.
But the headphone is the least important thing.
I don't understand why the HDMI output that worked on my TV until the 8.20 release, now doesn't work anymore. This is something that interests me the most.
My version 8.30 was not installed on a "clean" SD, but with an update from 8.20. Could this be an explanation?

Hi,

isn't it something about the HDMI output to use? I mean, the Pi4 has 2 mini (or micro, that is...) HDMI outputs; but I seem to remember something about only one of them can be addressed by the local UI, which is the one closer to the power (USB-C) input?

Or am I totally screwed up, in which case just ignore the comment...?
