Most radios not playing
#1
Yesterday I updated a friend's Raspberry pi2 to the latest Moode 8.3.9 version. It works well, without any problem playing from a directly connected USB HD, but there's something strange with the radios: most of them don't work at all, see attachments for the error given, we were able to listen to a couple only out of the 15 or 20 tested.
Any suggestion? What could I check?

Can you provide at least one station among those few you were able to play? (I may guess straight away the url is a plain IP address...)
IMO you have set moOde with a static IP, and forget to set the DNSs...

Also, 8.3.9 isn't the latest, that's 9.0.1 but there's no in-place update from 8.x

Unfortunately Moode 9 can't work on a old Raspberry pi2.

Yes, static IP set on Moode. Where should I look to find the DNSs?
There's a reason for this: if you connect by a Windows based PC it's enough to write moode or moode.local on the browser to access its page. But, unfortunately, this doesn't work on a Android based device where you've to write the actual IP address. And it might change if DHCP is used.

Later I'll write here one or more working stations, I'm waiting for these informations from my friend...

Thanks!

What did you enter for the static IP fields?
Address
Netmask
Gateway
Primary DNS
Secondary DNS

Usually it's just enough to specify the IP of the router / gateway itself.
Or you can use one of the google's 8.8.8.8 and/or 8.8.4.4

Sorry. What Android device and what release of Android are you talking about?

Google implemented mDNS generally in Android 12, more than 2-1/2 years ago. The mDNS address moode.local works in the browsers on my current Pixel 6a (Android 14) just as it did on my previous Pixel 3a once it updated to Android 12.

Here are the working radio stations: Radio Nowy Swiat, SWR2, WDR 1 live, WDR 3, WQXR Q2, WQXR New York, Radio 357, Bayern 2, BR-Klassik, MDR Klassik, NPO Radio 1, NPO radio 2, NPO radio 4, Omroep Zeeland, DR P8 Jazz.

I'm sure enough to have never been able to access Moode by an Android smartphone without writing the full IP address. It has NEVER worked with moode.local.

A few hours ago I tried again here with on my Pi5 with Moode 9.0.2 connected via Ethernet to the Router. My actual phone is a Google Pixel 8 Pro. But was the same with the previous 7 Pro and a couple of Xiaomi. Same result. Always.

You need to specify a Gateway and Primary DNS address or nothing will work right as far as networking goes.
Also are you sure thats the correct netmask?
