Problem: no sound from radio stations or library
#1
Hi folks,

Hope someone can help. I am running a pi 3b+ with moode 6.7 and an allo digione hat. I can happily listen to spotify via spotify connect. However, I cannot work out why I get no sound via the radio stations. As the spotify renderer is working, I have to think the problem lies somewhere in the configuration. I have looked at the forum but haven't been able to land on a suitable answer. Any suggestions most welcome.

Best wishes

Greg

Hi Mike, thanks for the reply. I have checked the volume which is why i am puzzled. Spotify is fine - so it has something to do with the output from the pi/digione but I cant seem to work out what

Hi. I have a similar issue.
I run Moode on RPi2. Updated it around 3-4 weeks ago and then most streams or mp3 files were playing, but didn't have sound (timer was running, the volume was ok, no muted). Not sure what was the update version though.
Restored from old SD card backup (from around February or March). It was fine again. Did all updates including updating Moode to the newest version. Still fine.
Then a couple of days later noticed the same issue.
Some radio stations don't work, some mp3 files are muted.
Seems like some kind of decoding problem.
I use 3.5mm jack as my audio output. HDMI is disabled in Moode configuration (not sure if only video is disabled or audio too)

Could someone help please?

The log entries indicate wrong version for OS and kernel. moOde 721 ships with RaspiOS 10.6 and kernel 5.4.77 and thats what is supported.

Code:
20210601 192806 worker: RaspiOS  (10.9)
20210601 192806 worker: Kernel   (5.10.17-v7+ #1421)

Hi Tim,

Thanks for your prompt reply. As a linux user I've got habit to use apt command a lot. Seems like that was my mistake Wink
OK, Will restore old backup and use it without updating.

Cheers.

Hi Greg, I think I've got the same issue... Did you find any solution that does not involve formatting the SD card and starting again?

Hi MrGrieves. Not yet. I presume we can wait for another Moode update and hopefully it will install newer, supported versions of various packages, kernel, ect. Or a restore an old working backup (luckily I have one).

Thanks,
Greg

Hello!
it is my problem to
Today I did a fresh install with version 7.2.1 (pi4)  and update the OS (apt update...) and the radios stations not sounds.
The kernel and OS is updated to last version

In my old Pi3b+ I have no error updating the OS with moodeaudio 7.0.1. (at least all seems to work fine Tongue )
You can see in the attachement kernel and OS is updated

I hope this could fix in next release

Use a fresh, stock 7.2.1 image from moodeaudio.org.

Use of apt update/upgrade/dist-upgrade is not supported.
