For what it's worth, the popping noise problem that I'm having with an RP4 is with an Audiolab M-DAC which has a ES9018 Sabre Reference 32-bit DAC chipset. I'm afraid that I do not have another DAC with which to compare it.
Actualy is not DAC (sabre) that is the problem but the chip that handles the USB communication and the implemention of it. My DAC also has an Sabre DAC, model ES9038Q2M. And there are the results.
Thank you for the clarification. I mentioned it in a earlier post in this thread, but I do not hear the popping sound when using a Pi-2B running the same version of MoOde. Looks like some sort of incompatibility between the USB out on the Pi and the USB in on the DAC.
