Thanks Tim, I'll stick with the in-place upgrade for now then.  Working fine for me as it is.

you can update to the latest version by running

Code:

sudo apt update
sudo apt full-upgrade

on your pi.

I've done it several times, and it doesn't break anything.... much....  honest... well....  errrm...  https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware/issues/232
