I have to agree with you that the problem lies with the source files, rather than with the players since both players exhibit the same problem.
I tried clearing the library tag cache and the browser cache, but to no avail.
I might try re-ripping the CD and replace the files on the NAS with new copies. I will backup the original files just in case somebody asks me to take a look at them for any reason.
