Couple things.
1. Devices like Kali are transparent to moOde software. It doesn't know whether a Kali is present or not.
2. Kali has a compatibility issue with 24 bit audio and the Linux 4.14.y kernel branch that results in audio glitches, white noise, etc. The fix is to set SoX resampling to 32 bit / * Khz.
