Try the command below after you experience the issue. It will return a number if auto-shuffle is running. If auto-shuffle has crashed it will return nothing.

That confirms its either not running because Auto-shuffle not ON in Audio Config or it's crashed for some reason.
Are you running the 64-bit kernel?
Hi Tim,
I am not running the 64-bit kernel.
I checked settings, auto shuffle is on and according to system info it is running also.
Tried again this "pgrep ashuffle" command, still no return.

I'm not able to repro the issue.
