ProtoDAC TDA1387 X8 project

I have received a couple of PMs with questions regarding the ProtoDAC project, so I am starting this thread to answer questions and exchange ideas.

ProtoDAC is an I2S NOS (nonoversampling) multibit DAC HAT using eight parallel Philips TDA1387 chips, passive I/V and is capable of 16 bit 384kbps sample rate PCM conversion. It can play high resolution files by truncating to 16 bits. The legendary Philips TDA1387 DAC in a simple circuit with premium components results in outstanding sound quality. The DIY build is easy. As a named I2S device in Moode 8.3.0 and later, configuration is easy.

Price is $69 including shipping. I will email you a PayPal invoice. If you don't want the RCA jacks, the price is $52. 

I do have other parts on hand. TDA1387 X8 modules alone are $6.50 each plus shipping. PCB + header $1.50 plus shipping.

The parts kit includes:

• One Tested TDA1387 X8 module (eight parallel TDA1387 for TDA1541). The modules are newly manufactured and contain TDA1387 chips which are used, as is the case with all of these modules from China. Selected for balanced AC signal at 0dB.
  
• High quality two layer PCB.
  
• Two Texas Components TX2575 audio metal foil I/V resistors (Vishay Z-foil). Matched pair.
  
• Two WIMA MKP 4 6.8uF/160V/10% polypropylene capacitors. Matched pair. These do not attract a magnet.
  
• Two audio quality power supply decoupling capacitors consisting of two of the following: Panasonic FR, Nichicon UKA, Nichicon FG, or Elna Silmic II.
  
• Two PCB mount RCA jacks. 
  
• 40 pin GPIO header
  
• Three metal film I2S resistors
