Official moOde 7.0.0 support thread

to avoid misunderstandings:
with moode 7.0 we got upmpdcli 1.5.1, which is generally playing tidal via bubble_upnp but just without sending covers correctly.

and I am not so confident, because in release notes of further version upmpdcli 1.5.5 it is said, that tidal does not work anymore.

IMHO, it's long past time to take this conversation out of a thread for moOde 7.0.0 and put it in a thread of its own. Consider, perhaps, a "upmpdcli" thread where all its plugins are discussed, or just a thread devoted to "Tidal'.

We've been over this ground again and again in different threads, including posts of my own which cite the positions of the developers of upmpdcli and mpd concerning the various streaming-for-pay services. Let's try to keep the information gathered in one place where users can find it and see how the saga evolves.

Kent

you are right Kent, I will do so.
also because it's not a clear moode-issue atm. maybe a control-point issue or a plugin issue.

Yes you can use Oratory's parameters but the Moode's PEQ only has peak filters. No shelving, although that might be a nice feature for the next version ...

You may be better off using Oratory's settings via Jaakko Pasanen's AutoEQ.

Thanks for the information. I tried Jaakko P. AutoEQ. I also tried mathaudio/foobar. To my ears a dedicated passive eq filter for my headphones  perform  better. If someone interested, diyaudioheaven, nice guy and excellent products (Not affiliated)

Version 6.7.1 still works OK.

Hi, I have the same issue with version 7. Wire connection does not to be set up. Wi-fi yes but Moode system is not possible to be configured with NAS. With 6.7.1 setup is easy and end quick.

Yes, now I'm downgrading to 6.7.1 'cause 7.0.0 it's ethernet invisible...

I downloaded this version: MD5 (moode-r700-iso.zip) = 22713b21969b7df33308f47eabb6c2b5 where internet driver for USBridge sig. was changed. Now wire internet configuration is without problem. Connection with NAS is smooth, well I will now test playing performance. Thank you Moode support for quick solution. Smile

I'm trying to switch over a 4B from Ethernet connection to WiFi, and I no longer see any on/off toggle in Moode 7 under System Modifications for the integrated onboard WiFi.

I also don't see it anywhere else, has it moved?

UPDATE EDIT: I have the unit working over WiFi, however I still don't see that On/Off toggle anywhere, so it appears the integrated WiFi was just On by default.

So I guess the question remains, did that toggle move someplace else and I'm just not seeing it?

Thanks.

Weird it's not showing... I can confirm it is there under System Modifications on my 4B with 7.0. (both Integrated WiFi adapter and Integrated BT adapter show as is normal)

OK thank you, I think I need to download and reflash the image then.

Actually first I'll just reflash the image I have to see if it was the download, or the flash via Etcher that went awry.

Since the download is a zip'ped file and Etcher unzips the image directly from it, I would expect Etcher to complain if the download were corrupted. (Besides, you did verify the file's MD5 checksum after downloading, right?)

Similarly, since Etcher reads and verifies the image on the card after flashing it, I would expect Etcher to complain if an error had occurred when flashing.

Don't know why your player isn't displaying the stanza in question but my personal bent would be just to (re)flash and boot directly into WiFi operation, either in AP mode or in client mode (using a customized moodecfg.ini).

Kent

Regarding the download, here is one strange thing that is happening on my MacBook Air as of I don't know exactly when. The download is being auto-unzipped by macOS, it shows in my Downloads folder as already unzipped, and the zip container is in the trash. I changed nothing, this must be something that came in a recent macOS update.

Prior to this, it was always as you said, I could use Etcher to write the image directly from a zipped file.

That said, first I tried the exact same image that was already in my Downloads folder and it once again had no switch for onboard WiFi/BT, so I ditched it and re-downloaded Moode 7. To answer your question, no I did not and have never compared MD5 checksums. I'm not saying that like it's the right thing to do, simply that in using Moode since 2016, I've never done that.

The new Download is exhibiting the exact same issue, I have to think this is some kind of dumb thing related to macOS suddenly deciding I want all zipped files to be auto-unzipped, the OS is making this decision unilaterally, I haven't changed a damn thing, but the download ends up as unzipped and the zip enclosure ends up in the trash, with no input from me.

In all cases Etcher has verified the image and not complained, so it's something to do with this macOS auto-unzip that is at issue.
