Problem: USB DAC Initialising noise?
#1
Hi!

I recently purchased a set o Yamaha NX-N500 which has a USB input for its internal DAC, it uses a ES9010K2M chip.
When connecting my Rpi 3+ (Moodeaudio 4.3) directly and powering it up, one can hear an annoying noise/blurbs as if there is a repeating initialisation going on. As soon as I hit play on a song/album/radio it goes away.
Tried connecting my Mac directly in the same manner, no issue.
When connecting from my Rpi and to my Cambrigde DacMagic Plus there is no issue.

Any ideas of tweaking?

Does the noise occur if Pi is already powered up and then you connect or power up the DAC?

Blurbs approx with 1 sec intervals.

If the noise occurs right at power on then it would rule out a software issue.

Ok, I’ll see if I can do a test with a Pi Zero later.
