Over the years, the RCO has been consistently ranked in the top 5 from around the world. Never got to the Concertgebouw in my few visits to the Netherlands but I was fortunate to attend an RCO performance when they toured the US years ago. Sensational!

The RCO stream features unusually fine recorded sound IMHO.   I don't know the magic their audio engineers have..  perhaps a combination of a great hall with great acoustics, plus superb mic placement and balance/mix.  Enjoy!

For the sake of completeness, I thought I'd follow up on KCSM - the "Bay Area's Jazz station" located on the San Francisco Peninsula. This is a traditional, over-the-air community radio station simulcasting their broadcast over the Internet.

HE-AAC / 64kbps
http://ice5.securenetsystems.net/KCSM

or

MP3 / 128kbps
http://ice7.securenetsystems.net/KCSM2

They claim the HE-AAC endpoint is their "best sounding stream" and my aging ears agree.

Again, I found an undersized logo on their website, downloaded it, merged it into a 300px x 300px background layer, and saved it as a jpg file. See attached.

Genre: Jazz
Broadcaster: KCSM-FM 91.7
Home page: https://www.kcsm.org
Language: English
Country: USA
Region: North America
Bit rate (kbps): 64
Audio format: HE-AAC
Geo-fenced: No

Where bit rate and audio format depend on the particular stream, of course.

So much music, so little time....

Kent

Thank You Kent!  They have a very nice program 6:00 - 9:00 Pacific Time called 'Jazz Oasis'...   I've listened to this for 20+ years.   :-)

Plus one for Dandelion.  I always add it and it's the one I listen to most of any (even more than AncientFM, which let's face it, is epic).

@Tim Curtis

New URL for Radio Station KMHD, perhaps.

The URL included in moOde database is http://stream1.opb.org/kmhd.mp3. This URL continues not to play here as described in another post.

Here's the URL I get from http://www.radio-btowser.infohttps://ais-sa3.cdnstream1.com/2442_128....ylist.m3u8

It's an m3u8 file which is self-referential with some session info I haven't cracked (maybe not enough coffee yet) but it's playing fine in a moOde 8 player I'm listening to now.

Kent

I'll check it out but it may not make it into the upcoming 8.0.1 update.

More coffee, definitely ;-)
