Update if it ain't broke?
#1
Hi, I've been behind on updates quite some months running 6.4.1.

I wonder if it's safe to start updating. I guess I would need to go through several iterations to end up with 6.7.1. I'm hesitant to just do it mainly because it took quite some tweaking to get it close to perfection and I don't want to go through that again...  Tongue

Thanks,
Stephan.

1) wait for the moOde 7 release, which is about to go into the testing phase, and
2) flash it to a new uSD card.
3) save the old uSD card with moOde 6.4.1 on it and boot up the new card.
4) see how you like the many fixes and additions which have occurred in the last 8 months.
5) if you hate it, swap cards and reboot.

It takes me less than an hour to download, flash, install and boot and maybe another hour to change settings and explore new features. I don't find that burdensome.

Regards,
Kent

As Kent says, the convenience of the Pi is that you can easily swap the sd card/boot disk with another. Suck it and see as we say in blightly.
You will need to reflash your card to get to the current version anyway.

Sounds like a plan, I’m in no rush and wait for v7. Thanks!
