Best setup recommendation UPNP
#1
Dear audio enthusiasts

Please your advice on how to setup moode to get the most out of it.

My setup is
Allo Digione on top of RPi3
Ares II Dac using coaxial input

I'm streaming Tidal using UPNPbubble and mconnect.
The last one supports sending 24 bit 48khz.

Is moode doing something to the stream before sending it to the DAC?

The audio info shows that bitrate Is different when using 24 bit 48khz tracks.

When using 16bit 44.1 it simply do es not show the  decoding rate.

Is there something messing with stream and degrading audio quality?

What can I do to setup moode and get the best?

Not the only time mconnect's weirdness has been discussed here, what you're seeing is mconnect resampling and futzing with the audio data as it's sent to upmpdcli. BubbleUPnP on the other hand has been totally reliable for me.

About getting the best out of your DAC, you might actually be better off with USB to the Aries II instead of using the Digione for SPDIF.
Not only is SPDIF more prone to jitter but the Aries supports formats upto 24/1536KHz PCM and DSD1024 which is only possible with USB, SPDIF maxes out at 24/192 PCM and DSD64 DoP.

Hope that helps
