Solved: MoOde@RPi4 Synology share mount fails
#1
Greetings.

I'm thrilled with moOde design and capabilities, but this problem exhausted me completely. I spent over 4 hours today trying to get moOde working with Synology shares. Tried both SMB and NFS with no luck: sometimes I manage newly created share to show in folder list, but upon enter I get "MPD ERROR" and that's it, share dissapears while I dive back into googling.

On this forum I've read following entries, plus googled a few other advises with no results.
http://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=2260
http://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=1976
http://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=1776
http://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=220

I used default command line, switching vers to 1/2/3. Found commentary with "sudo mount -t cifs -o username=username //10.0.0.5/share/musique/Library /mnt/NAS" line, but can't realise where to put it, since entering it in GUI returns error. I tested Volumio with no problems regarding share mapping, never did tune any network setting, just entered share name and it worked, why moOde does give me so much trouble, what do I do else to estabilish stable connection?

Thank you in advance.

MPD has crashed. Switch back to 32-bit kernel

DNS typically points to the Router Gateway address and the Router functions as a DNS proxy but your log shows DNS pointing to a separate host.

As for DNS - I have dedicated blocking DNS server in my network, it should be like this.
But, yes, 32-bit kernel did the trick, weird it didn't occur to me =/ I'm sorry for this silly situation, I always worked with x84 architecture, somewhat new to Raspberry-like devices, which makes me stumble over should-be-obvious things. Thank you kindly once again.

P.S. Can I edit topic subject to [SOLVED]?

lol, I always wonder whether I should continue offering the "experimental" options. The 64-bit kernel has generated a number of similar posts where MPD crashes during database update.

To mark as SOLVED just edit your original post (#1). There is a dropdown next to the title.

Maybe change the names from 32-bit / 64-bit to something like Default / Experimental to better reflect the nature of the choice? I do think there’s value in keeping it around but it’s the best choice for casual users or those just getting started.

I have been using the 64-bit kernel, MPD 0.22~git (test) with the input_cache on my RaspDac mini kit (pi 3b+) since July with no problems.

Thats good to hear and I think for the most part the 64-bit kernel is fine. Our upcoming 7 release is going to run the production version of MPD 0.22 and so maybe no more crashes.
