Hi Tim, this is the log with the MoOde completely out of control. The webUI is still accessible, but many parts of the configurations do not work. For example, if I try to configure something the SET buttons are inaccessible. It's all very strange, if I access the library via NAS I see the files and can play them, but if I use Album I only see some Thumbnails and other empty ones. By repeating the Thumbnail regeneration nothing seems to happen. I'm reporting all this because it's not really my MoOde that has these problems, but that of a friend who I'm helping via TeamViewer. According to him, he started having these problems after the last update. I have the same configuration except for the PI. He uses a 4gb pi4, I use a pi3 + HifiBerry digi2pro + ProtoDac. My system is incredibly stable and sounds wonderful, while his system suffers from these strange problems. He is convincing himself to switch to Volumio because, in his opinion, nothing strange happens with that system. It's the first time something like this has happened to me.

Hi Tim, maybe I've figured it out. By dint of investigating with my friend, I discovered that he always kept the library on the portable HDD and when he told me that he had connected the MoOde to the NAS I thought he was referring to the transfer of his library from HDD to NAS and therefore since the problem remained I blamed the Raspberry hardware. In reality he connected the same HDD to a USB of the NAS and read the library from there Angry . So all this chaos has always originated from a HDD which is probably damaged. The suspicion came to me immediately and I asked to delete the corrupt files, but also to try to connect the library via another device such as the NAS. He practically did none of this by continuing to use the same damaged HDD, but via a different connection Dodgy . Now he has replaced the device and is carrying out tests again, but I am 100% sure that he will no longer have any problems. Forgive me for the inconvenience I caused, but sometimes friends are tragicomic.

Have your friend test with Router mode OFF and only ONE network interface, either Ethernet or WiFi otherwise there is no way to determine what might be going on.

Also if he is not located in the US then the WiFi country setting needs to be  updated in Network Config to the correct country code otherwise WiFi channel availability will not be correct.

If everything works OK in the above configuration then go ahead and try Router mode but keep in mind that Router mode uses the crowded WiFi 2.4 GHz band and defaults to channel 6. The channel can be changed in Network Config for example to 1 or 11 which may improve performance if channel 6 is congested or has poor signal quality but overall Router mode is limited.

Have your friend test with Router mode OFF and only ONE network interface, either Ethernet or WiFi otherwise there is no way to determine what might be going on.

Also if he is not located in the US then the WiFi country setting needs to be  updated in Network Config to the correct country code otherwise WiFi channel availability will not be correct.

If everything works OK in the above configuration then go ahead and try Router mode but keep in mind that Router mode uses the crowded WiFi 2.4 GHz band and defaults to channel 6. The channel can be changed in Network Config for example to 1 or 11 which may improve performance if channel 6 is congested or has poor signal quality but overall Router mode is limited.

Thanks Tim for your patience and replies, but I think I've finally solved the problem. I responded to you with a previous post explaining the situation. Basically he was still using a portable HDD which is probably breaking. I asked him to disconnect this HDD and transfer a part of his file library to a NAS and he replied that he had done so... only to discover after many hours that he was using the same HDD connected to the NAS via USB :-( I said delete that damn HDD and use another one and it seems the problems are gone. I'm still not 100% sure, but definitely a library on a corrupt HDD creates a lot of problems. I apologize again for the inconvenience hoping that we both can find some peace ;-)
