Display Album PDF
#1
Many albums include a PDF file (stored in the same folder as the album tracks), often providing background on the artist/composer, further track details, and perhaps recording information.

Would it be possible to display this PDF file from the stanard browser UI?

Thanks,
Geoff

The request has come up before but it's not a trivial undertaking to implement.

Maybe a dev will be interested in volunteering their time to work on this :-)

Thanks Tim.

Is this not something that can be 'handed to the browser' to do - most browsers display PDFs.

The Browser by itself doesn't know where the file is and so there needs to be code on the server to render the correct file to the Browser for display.

How its displayed in moOde is I suppose a matter of taste. Personally I'd like to see it rendered within the UI rather than in a separate Browser tab.

The separate browser tab is not a problem for me - just like clicking on the Song Title, but in this case launching the PDF file. Perhaps the PDF file name and location could be stored as part of the Update Library process... just thinking 'out loud' - I wouldn't know how much of this is possible.

Thanks,
Geoff
