Hi everyone,
running Moode Audio 7.2.1 on RPi 4B 2GB. I am trying to play some DSD128 files, but I am just getting noise or popping sounds.
1. I already go to MPD config and change the DSD support to DSD over PCM.
2. I also try a fresh copy of moode audio 7.2.1.
Any suggestion will be welcome.

Native DSD: If the audio device reports that it supports Native DSD then MPD will send the unaltered DSD bitstream to the device otherwose MPD will perform DSD to PCM on-the-fly conversion.
DSD over PCM (DoP): There is no way to detect if an audio device supports DoP so only enable this if you are certain that the device support it otherwise the encapsulated DSD bitstream may cause loud or unpredictable distortion.

Here is the link that shows EL DAC II or Element II support DoP . I already verified the firmware release as well.
Under MPD config -> DSD Support changed from Native DSD (Default) to DSD over PCI (DoP), the rest of the MPD config is default. Saved, rebooted countless time already.

It's not obvious to me why that DAC is not able to process DoP if in fact it supports it. I have 3 DAC's that work perfectly with DoP.

Hi Tim,
Thanks for the confirmation. I connected the DAC to Win10 and it is able to decode DSD file just fine. Do you have any suggestion what to check or configuration change on moOde audio configuration side?

You could try editing /etc/alsa/conf.d/_deviceout.conf
Code: Change "hw:2,0" to "plughw:2,0"
Then restart MPD via the command below.
Code: sudo systemctl restart mpd

Thanks for the quick respond. the slave.pcm variable in _deviceout.conf is already set as plughw:2,0 .
