Song name from Bluetooth
#1
Hello,

In my car, connected via bluetooth to my phone, the name of the currently played song is displayed, so I understand that Bluetooth and my phone are able to tranmit this information.

With moode, when I connect the phone, it displays just "Bluetooth active" in the we page, and
Code:
  file=Bluetooth Active
 outrate=16 bit, 44.1 kHz, Stereo, 1.411 Mbps
in the file /var/local/www/currentsong.txt

Is this something I missed to transmit the song's informations, or is it a limitation of the software, or a limitation of the bluetooth material on the pi side?

It might be possible but someone will have to show the way.

Here are the sources for BlueZ and bluez-alsa.

There are numerous profiles defined for Bluetooth.

Currently, moOde uses only the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) to receive/transmit an audio stream.

Starting with version 1.3, the Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) supports the exchange of metadata. As Tim says, someone would have to lead the way in implementing the metadata portion of this profile in the context of the moOde player.

Regards,
Kent
