Welcome.

I'm eyeing up a zero2 to upgrade my zero based player that hides in my old Roberts radio. Good to hear a positive experience of it.

This small thing is a beast .. (pi3 4 core processor) not using much power out of an anker battery..

I'm currently using a usb soundcard (bigger than the pi!) really looking to upgrade.

Maybe a hifi berry dac zero ?

Soldering the header to the pi is something i'm researching.. never done it ..

I've avoided soldering by using a pimoroni amp "shim".  Not great quality, but sufficient for the use I put it to.
