Yes, these font packages work for me to display the Chinese metadata from our sample file in moOde's local display. Note the Chromium browser has to be restarted for the newly installed font to take effect. I simply rebooted.

I found last night that installing the xfonts-intl-chinese package did not work despite it seeming intuitively obvious.

i will try both Japanese and Koren songs after i install the lanaguages. 
but of coures, chinese characters will be my prior action.
