Idea: Nested radio station list
#1
Good evening all,

as far as I can work out the radio station list is a flat list with no way to nest or group specific stations?

It would be nice to be able to create folders to hold multiple streams/genres from the same provider.
There are streamers such as the BBC and Radio Caprice where this would be really helpful.
e.g

BBC----Sport-----5 Live
          Music-----Radio 1
                        Radio 2
                        Radio 3

Caprice---Ethnic-----17 sub genres/streams
              Jazz-------38 sub genres/streams
              Rock------72 sub genres/streams
              Metal-----66 sub genres/streams
etc

Regards,
Andy.

In Radio Manager set the following:

- Sort tag = "Broadcaster"
- Group by = "Sort tag"

Thanks Tim. But that still means all 200 stations being in a very long single web page?

It might be cleaner if the initial list was, if so configured, a list of "broadcasters" or genres etc you then click the relevant broadcaster to reveal their station list?

Maybe it's just me Smile

Drill down navigation is best suited for large numbers (1000's) or deeply nested items for example an OS file system or moOde's Tag view. For just a few hundred items a flat list with search, grouping and aliphabetic quick jump works best in my experience.
