Very odd.

Zip up one of the album directories, a few of the song files and any cover image files in the directory and PM a download link to myself and @TheOldPresbyope. One of us will see if we can repro the issue.

The sample files don't appear to contain any embedded cover art and there is no cover image file in the folder thus moOde's cover art generator assigns the default moOde cover to the album.

The mediainfo dump below is missing the 'cover', 'Cover type' and 'Cover MIME' elements which would be present if the file contains an embedded cover.

Example:
Cover                                    : Yes
Cover type                               : Cover (front)
Cover MIME                               : image/jpeg

interesting..other streamers i have pointed to the same share have had not issues. Is there some document that shows what Moode is looking for?

When the log says...25 folders scanned, 25 thumbs created, 0 already in cache. what 25 thumbs were created and where would they be located?

Thanks

The thumbnail images are in the directory below. As I mentioned if no art can be found then the thumb thats created is the default moOde cover. This prevents broken image icons from appearing in the UI.

Code:
/var/local/www/imagesw/thmcache/

The other softwares might be doing online album art lookup. moOde only looks for cover art in the song file itself (embedded art) or for cover art image file (folder.jpg, cover.jpg, etc) in the directory containing the song file.

The Rhythmbox music player (a GNOME project) is an example of a Linux player which can fetch cover art from the Internet. Should a similar capability be developed for moOde by an interested dev, I’m sure Tim would entertain the PR. Smile
