Desktop Installation Available?
#1
Hi,

I just wanted to confirm that there are no install packages for Raspberry Pi Desktop, correct?

I'll try to keep it brief, but I've been compiling some older audio gear to go with my console setup (80's equipment). I'm playing with the idea of putting together an RPi music player something that mimics the Sony HAP-Z1ES.

At any rate, I'm trying to come up to speed in RPi and the different media players. Unfortunately, I don't have an RPi to check out any software, so I was hoping to be able to install things on a Raspberry Pi Desktop VM. But, unfortunately, all I see are images for the sd card.

Thanks!

Correct. moOde is built and optimized for Raspberry Pi ARM 32/64 hardware.

Thanks!

I guess I'll have to keep monitoring sites for the RPi to come back in stock.

They will eventually be readily available, prolly around the same time as the millions of other products that are on back order including automobiles. They all depend on trailing-edge chips which have been in short supply.

Here's the official supply chain statement from Raspberry Pi Ltd.
