moOde 6.4.0 bug reports
(12-29-2019, 05:02 PM)feh123 Wrote: Hi

Just to follow on re my Spotify issue. I re-installed 6.4.0 and managed to get Moode operational for my NAS based music and internet radio. However Spotify will only work directly through my Naim streamer. Moode Spotify connect is there as an available device on my Spotify app but if I connect to it I get no sound although the app shows no error and I see a timer for the track playing.

I confess I'm a bit mystified by your issue.

I don't have the HiFiBerry Digi Pro HAT nor any S/PDIF equipment.

ATM I'm playing Spotify Premium tracks without a problem on an RPi3B+ running moOde 6.4.0 and a HiFiBerry DAC+ feeding an amp and speakers.
I've got the moOde Spotify bitrate setting at 320k.

pgrep shows the librespot process is running, e.g., reports the process number:

Code:
pi@moode:~ $ pgrep librespot
1197

The attached image shows the alsamixer report.

The hw_parameters appear to be the same as yours

Code:
pi@moode:~ $ cat /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/sub0/hw_params
access: RW_INTERLEAVED
format: S16_LE
subformat: STD
channels: 2
rate: 44100 (44100/1)
period_size: 225
buffer_size: 22050

Since the "Spotify Active" overlay apparently locks your home screen so you can't click the Audio info selection, you can instead point your browser directly to http://<your player name or IP address>/audioinfo.php

Here's the audioinfo I scraped from my browser

Note that the default Initial volume setting is 0% in the Spotify Config page. You did remember to change this and/or to use your Spotify app to increase the volume to some non-zero value, right?

Kent

I have a 6.4.0 problem. I have no digital audio from either HDMI connectors on my Pi4 with moode 4.6.0 This setup used to work on Moode 6.1.0 any one else verify this? I would use a HDMI to coaxial adapter to feed my dac this no longer works on 6.4.0.

OK, I got it... you must be really concerned about it Smile

Silly joke apart... I take it you've used the same RPi 4 while runing MoOde v6.1.0 and v6.4.0. A few questions:
- have you made any changes to the MoOde installation on either versions?
- have you re-installed v6.4.0?
- have you made any hardware changes?
- do you have to install any addon software in order to make the HDMI-to-Coax adapter work?
- what is the model/make of the HDMI-to-Coax adapter?

Please make sure that the absolute minimal hardware configuration (that is RPi + HDMI adapter + DAC) while making any tests.

Hi Kent

Thanks for checking all this over Xmas/New Year - and it's a rather embarrassing reply from me - I forgot the 0% volume in the Moode Spotify config! I changed the rate to 320k but ignored the volume - how dumb. I must have changed it for 6.3.0 but when I updated missed the setting.

It's working fine now. Thanks again and best wishes for 2020.

Hi together,

If I create a radio-station moode 6.4 writes the URL of the station into a PLS.
But there are some radio-stations with an PLS as target which will result in a PLS
which calls a PLS and then only one track will be played and transmission stops?

f.e.g. JB-Radio 2 OGG 512K
direct stream URL:
http://199.189.87.9:10999/opus-512 (playes only one track)

PLS at JB-Radio:
https://jbradio2.ca/links/pls/512_opus.pls (playes continous)

I tried the Links with VLC because I first thougt it's a prob
with the rooter, but with VLC both versions will play continuous.

If I create in moode to stations for testing

1.
Name: JB-Radio 2 (OPUS http)
URL: http://199.189.87.9:10999/opus-512

2.
Name: JB-Radio 2 (OPUS pls)
URL: https://jbradio2.ca/links/pls/512_opus.pls

and add them to the playlist before a track is played:
1. will be shown in the track-list, as
JB-Radio 2 (Opus http)
JB-Radio 2 (Opus http)

2. will be shown in the track-list as
JB-Radio 2
JB-Radio 2 (Opus http)

when a track is played, stops after one track:
1. will be shown as
Track title
JB-Radio 2 (Opus http)

2. will be shown as, playes continous:
Track title
JB-Radio 2 (Opus http)

Only 1. will be used for two times in the playlist.

There is no update in the radio-station-list, also when I deleate
one of them and also no update after restart. Allways the first created
station will be present and used and activated when I create a new station
after delete which starts with JB-Radio ...

Kind regards

Jo

Hi Everyone,

I have the following bug : the radio list doesn't show up anymore.
NAS mount as well, except when I reboot but it dissappears soon after.
The mount is the USB HDD plugged directly into the raspberry, a workaround I tried when I was losing connection to it.
It has been working fine for weeks.

I tried : rebooting, update database, upgrade database.

Se pictures attached and the log below :

which calls a PLS and then only one track will be played and transmission stops?

f.e.g. JB-Radio 2 OGG 512K
direct stream URL:
http://199.189.87.9:10999/opus-512 (playes only one track)

PLS at JB-Radio:
https://jbradio2.ca/links/pls/512_opus.pls (playes continous)

I tried the Links with VLC because I first thougt it's a prob
with the rooter, but with VLC both versions will play continuous.

If I create in moode to stations for testing

1.
Name: JB-Radio 2 (OPUS http)
URL: http://199.189.87.9:10999/opus-512

2.
Name: JB-Radio 2 (OPUS pls)
URL: https://jbradio2.ca/links/pls/512_opus.pls

and add them to the playlist before a track is played:
1. will be shown in the track-list, as
JB-Radio 2 (Opus http)
JB-Radio 2 (Opus http)

2. will be shown in the track-list as
JB-Radio 2
JB-Radio 2 (Opus http)

when a track is played, stops after one track:
1. will be shown as
Track title
JB-Radio 2 (Opus http)

2. will be shown as, playes continous:
Track title
JB-Radio 2 (Opus http)

Only 1. will be used for two times in the playlist.

There is no update in the radio-station-list, also when I deleate
one of them and also no update after restart. Allways the first created
station will be present and used and activated when I create a new station
after delete which starts with JB-Radio ...

Kind regards

Jo

I get the error below in MPD log with either of the links you posted. Only one track is played in either case. The error suggests an issue in MPD or ffmpeg/ogg decoder.

Code:
Jan 17 09:55 : ffmpeg/ogg: Packet processing failed: Invalid data found when processing input
Jan 17 09:55 : player: played "http://199.189.87.9:10999/opus-512"

Try posting or searching for similar issue in the MPD repo.

I have the following bug : the radio list doesn't show up anymore.
NAS mount as well, except when I reboot but it dissappears soon after.
The mount is the USB HDD plugged directly into the raspberry, a workaround I tried when I was losing connection to it.
It has been working fine for weeks.

I tried : rebooting, update database, upgrade database.

thanks for the great work, waiting for the next version !

The symptom "the radio list doesn't show up anymore" suggests a corrupt or bad SDCard or a broken moOde image.

RADIO is a local directory that does not depend on a network connection and thus should always be accessible.

Try posting or searching for similar issue in the MPD repo.
https://github.com/MusicPlayerDaemon/MPD/issues

If you listen to the stream in VLC you can hear a distinct discontinuity between "tracks". I think this may be an issue with JB-Radio 2's encoder or their workflow and I don't know enough about OGG streaming to say if it's acceptable behavior.

Since both the pls and the m3u (not mentioned in OP) endpoints reference the same stream as the direct link does there should be (and is) no difference in behavior among the different forms of reference.

The rest of the OP dealing with station names is a consequence of the different forms of reference. I get the hint of possibly one minor bug but need to do some tests of my own before saying more.

Regards,
Kent
