wrong decoding of SOME DSD files
#1
Hello,
with 8.1.2 I experienced this VERY strange behaviour:

in the attached files, some dsf files are correctly decoded as native DSD stream,
others are decoded as PCM 32 bit 352.8 Khz -_-

DoP, as well as alll DSP operations are disabled.

Dac is USB Topping DX5 wich support DSD native.

I experience also occasionally distorsions,
glitches, clicks on files in all formats,
all this from 8.1/64 version;

previous versions 8.0/32 worked fine with right decoding
and no distorsions.

Very odd.

Does a given file always decode the same?

PM myself and @TheOldPresbyope a download link to one of the files that should decode to native DSD but instead always decodes to PCM. Hopefully we can repro the issue.

That track and album decode correctly for me as a DSD64 bitstream using a Topping D30Pro, server is JRiver.

Moode 8.1.2 32-bit.

SOLVED the decoding problem:
dsf decoded in PCM are multichannel -_-

DAC only suppoer native DSD stereo, and that's why it's decoded in PCM -_-
SORRY for bugging Smile

clicking - glitches remains,
on one solo piano 24/96 flac file are quite evident.
what can I check to solve this problem ?

@carmol

Besides the DSD decoding issue, you mentioned

Quote:I experience also occasionally distorsions,

What RPi model? Are you using a genuine Raspberry Pi power supply? Short, good-quality power and USB cables?

Do you see corresponding error messages in any of the logs?

Regards,
Kent

Good find :-)

For the glitch issue PM myself and @TheOldPresbyope a download link the file and we will try to repro.
