Permission denied

Trying to upload music to the sdcard folder via smb moode cannot access the files. 

If I try uploading with winscp I get permission denied.

Both way I authenticate as pi 

Is there a new separate user user id we need to use with 8.x?

Turns out the issue was with input cache. Enabled it to 128 and then everything was haywire. Disabled it and now things are working again.
