Radio Paradise
#1
Hi everybody,

today I decided to try Radio Paradise, as I see it mentioned many times on a forum I follow; so I went to their site and saw the 4 channels (Main, Mellow, Rock and Global mixes).

I wanted to add them to moOde, but I saw they were already there :-) so I just checked the stream addresses, and noted that they ended in -320 (or just /320 for the main mix), while if I chose FLAC + Metadata as quality / type (on the site) I get the same address, but ending in -flacm.

So I changed the 4 links to stream FLAC, and I get the stream decoded @ 16bit / 1411kbps, plus the now-playing information.

@Tim Curtis Isn't it the case we change them in the installation itself?

(ETA: weird you cannot reference people on a brand-new thread...)

I can add to the TODO list to check the FLAC streams again but the last time I checked, which was quite a while ago, the metadata was unreliable and there were dropouts in the streams.

Oh, I see.

I just listened to the rock stream for maybe half an hour and experienced no dropouts whatsoever; but it's true that a whole day playing is needed to actually be sure. As for the metadata, the times I checked (and I knew the track, of course...) it was correct; maybe they improved their services? :-)

Not a big deal, eventually one can always update the URIs by hand, or even better duplicate the stations...

I have been listening to the RP flacm stations for well over a year now and they are quite stable on RPi/Moode.

They always play continuously for many hours or even days at a time, and the occasional stoppage can always be restarted just by hitting Play again, suggesting to me it was server side or maybe even ISP disconnect related, rather than something to do with Moode.

No issues with the FLACM streams on my end. I've updated the stations for upcoming 8.3.4 release, new image only.
