Just announced Moode 4.4 Update

I get the same result with Linn Kazoo as well as plugplayer. Both control Apps work if I pick tracks from my home NAS.

Prior to moving to 4.4  both Apps worked fine with Tidal. So I am pretty sure its something in Moode 4.4 that is incorrect.

Thanks,
Ian

Like I said, did you enter your credentials correctly?

This includes the "Stream quality" setting. If you choose a setting higher than your subscription qualifies for, then you'll see this behavior.

As well, for each track requested, you'll see a series of entries like the following in /var/log/daemon.log

Code:
Mar  7 08:24:15 moode50c upmpdcli[29794]: CMDTALK: tidal-app.py: trackuri: [{u'cmdtalk:proc': 'trackuri', u'path': '/tidal/track?version=1&trackId=100349056'}]
Mar  7 08:24:16 moode50c upmpdcli[29794]: https://api.tidal.com/v1/tracks/100349056/streamUrl?soundQuality=LOSSLESS&sessionId=9fef5af2-6710-48a9-8196-387f9a0b0555&limit=999&countryCode=US
Mar  7 08:24:16 moode50c upmpdcli[29794]: Requested quality is not allowed in user's subscription
Mar  7 08:24:16 moode50c upmpdcli[29794]: CMDTALK: tidal-app.py: processmessage: processor raised: [401 Client Error: Unauthorized for url: https://api.tidal.com/v1/tracks/100349056/streamUrl?soundQuality=LOSSLESS&sessionId=9fef5af2-6710-48a9-8196-387f9a0b0555&limit=999&countryCode=US]
Mar  7 08:24:16 moode50c upmpdcli[29794]: :2:src/mediaserver/cdplugins/plgwithslave.cxx:264::PlgWithSlave::get_media_url: slave failure
Mar  7 08:24:16 moode50c upmpdcli[29794]: :2:src/mediaserver/cdplugins/plgwithslave.cxx:156::answer_to_connection: no media_uri for: /tidal/track

Regards,
Kent

PS - don't feel bad, I checked my notes and discovered I'd made the same mistake back in Dec 2017 and reported it to the old moOde thread over on diyaudio.com.

Well that's interesting about the credentials. I did notice that once I updated to 4.4 I could no longer see my collection of albums. However, I can search Tidal and can list albums along with their art-work, and when I press play it says its adding it to my playlist but then just starts endlessly adding more and more tracks that I didn't select and it doesn't play anything.

My subscription is for hifi highest quality and I am sure that when I had it working with 4.0 I just selected the FLAC CD option. Should I be selecting anything else or making any other change to my Moode settings?

Thanks,
Ian

@IanMi

Hold up. Are you trying to play Tidal tracks whose links had been added some time previously to your playlist? As I understand it, these links are time-limited and probably would result in the CURL failure you observe. [but I've been known to be wrong before  Rolleyes]

As for the endless addition of tracks behavior,  do you see anything interesting in the /var/log/daemon.log file?

You can also try turning on explicit upmpdcli logging by uncommenting and editing the appropriate lines in /etc/upmpdcli.conf.

 - You can crank the loglevel value all the way to 5 if you like wading through long lists!

 - IIRC I had better luck directing the log to logfilename=/home/pi/moodeupnp.log than to the suggested /var/log/moodeupnp.log.

You could also try dropping the stream quality to "low bitrate (AAC)" as a test, but given your subscription level this probably won't tell us anything.

Hi Kent

Changing to low bit rate makes no difference.

The contents of the daemon.log file is this:

Does it help?

I thought I would just try rewriting moode 4.4 and on reconfiguration I get the same issue. I am now totally stuck

I think I have sorted it by changing my password at tidal and then re-entering all the info into Moode now all my playlists appear and it is working.

What an idiot!! Thanks for trying to help.
