@Tim Curtis file isn't kept open, so it must something with permissions. Are those files copied/restored with sudo?

Yes the updater runs as root but I see a bug in the update script. It appears that the line of code that copies /usr/share/camilladsp files is missing :-0
I'll patch it tonight.
