[SOLVED] Forum riddled with adverts

AFAICT the pagead2.googlesyndication.com site I identified earlier is well-behaved and is handled by any of the blockers I've tried on my Linux and Windows desktops. 

Mobile devices are a bit trickier because the browsers don't present the users with as many configuration options (or maybe I've just lost my mojo).

I use Chrome, the forum is littered with ads normally, on my Android phone it's pretty much unuseable so I just use it on Chrome in Debian 10. I have a custom host file that takes out all the ads so it's ad free along with the majority of the internet now.

Hi everyone, many thanks for all the replies, sorry I've not been here to thank you earlier but my current state of health is rather 'dynamic' and can see carted off pronto.
I use an Amazon Fire HD 10 pro tablet, I have up using its own browser as it was horrendous and jailbroke it to use Chrome- a better experience all round, I think a lot of you are probably right about the device causing the ad bombing despite trying different ad blockers, still have so many ads littering every  page, some pages are four times as longer than other pages.

I'll see what other ad blockers work with this tablet and Chrome.
In all honesty it's churlish of me to whinge about are as it's a minor inconvenience compared with the hard work that goes into managing the site, please feel free to point at me and laugh!

I run piHole on a pi2, helps stop a lot of the anti-block stuff sites use. This site is whitelisted though.

Even for Chrome/Firefox I recommend uBlockOrigin. Additionally install NanoDefender. You have to config NanoDef once for usage with Ublock. It does some black- and whitelisting of trackers. I like the Bave-browser, which is a built on chromium(?).

And blockada works fine on android. But there it is question of browser i guess. The inbuilt browser is super shit. You have a lot of alternatives. Firefox, Firefox klar, Brave.. I use Brave and DuckGoGo-Browser + Blockada. But even with Blockada off, I have no ads.

I am reading that Nano adblocker and Nano defender is now managed by new owners who immediately pushed out an update with malicious code: https://github.com/NanoAdblocker/NanoCor...-709428210

This update is so far only on the Chrome extension store. The Firefox port is managed by a different developer and they plan to rename it and will try to maintain it to the best of their abilities. The Edge listing is still managed by the old developer, and they immediately delisted both adblocker and defender. They are now recommending everyone to move over to uBlock Origin.

I've not looked in to it with any detail as I don't use it myself but I thought I should reply as I'd hate to have anyone have anything nasty happen due to installing those.
