Solved: Bose Soundlink Flex SE low volume with Moode
#1
Big Grin
1st time post follows:

I found a 30% off price on the Bose Soundlink Flex SE at Costco and decided to bite.  Please let me know if you think this was my first mistake!

I'm finding that the Bose is providing very low volume when paired with Moode, and I'm tempted to return it.  However, I decided to poke at this a bit.  When paired with Android, the Bose speaker sounds loud and is risking wife disapproval.   Big Grin  So let's check if it's the PI or Moode?

I also paired an Oontz Angle 3 with Moode and this resulted in nice loud volume, although it suffers from poor bass response.

I'm having trouble putting my finger on why the BOSE can perform well with Android, poorly with RP4b/Moode while the Oontz performs well with RPi4b/Moode

Any ideas on the matter are a appreciated.

moode 8.3.7
RPi4b 4gb
RaspiOS 11.8

With Bluetooth speakers you always have two volumes, one on the sending client and the other on the speaker itself. There is no volume normalization across different clients/apps and so the Bluetooth speaker may have to be set to a different volume level depending on the client and its volume level.

I did fail to mention I've got the Bose turned all the way up.  If there are no ideas on how to adjust I will simply return it.
