Solved: startup stuck at "login:" - any physical reset on RasPi 5 ?
#1
Hi,
After numerous unsuccessful attemps (15?...) I've decided to call on you:

> On startup, Moode startup stays stuck at "login:" (before graphic UI to display)

I already installed it on my new RaspPi 5 (9.0.5), it worked, in spite of startup problems (randomly: everything fine / no radio / stuck on startup... that's why I decided to reinstall).
No keyboard plugged.

I carefully follow the Imager Tutorial, using Raspberry Pi Imager to flash SD card, applying parameters as described.
I tried
  • simple/complex login & password (even once: I unchecked 'set username and password')
  • 9.0.5 / 9.0.6 / 9.0.8, pre-loaded on my computer / downloaded via Raspberry Pi Imager
  • enable SSH / or not (uncheck)
  • unplug everything from RaspPi except power and screen
  • another SD card
  • another computer...
  • and as a last resort, the forum!
Should we be looking at the RaspPi 5? A physical reset...?

I'm aware I may show as a dumb boy Tongue no matter, you are my last chance!

,,,

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your post, but taking these two points together, I suspect you are starting up moOde with a local display attached but you have not yet configured moOde to turn on the local display. Until that is done, you can see moOde's WebUI only through a web browser on some other device (phone, tablet, computer). All that you will see is the Linux boot messages and then the login prompt.

Once you've opened the WebUI on the other device, go to m>Configure>Peripherals to find the Local Display options.

Kent

Oh thank you so much Tim! or should I write "so sorry to be that dumb"  Wink
Finding the IP was the solution.
But why, on so many previous attemps, Advanced IP scanner didn't find Moode's IP?...
Reminds me, when a colleague ask you "hey this damn computer don't do this, could you have a look?" and when he shows you what's wrong... it works again Rolleyes
