Non-embeded album covers

I looked around in the forum and found some discussions, but they are mostly about embedded cover art. I saw that there should be no problem if the cover art is inside the music/album folder and moode should get it. But I'm having problems with this. I have a lot of albums where the cover is not embedded in the media files, but kept as cover.jpg in the album folder. When I play songs from these albums the cover art doesn't show up.

How can I debug this? I can't see anything in any logs.

When u say "cover art doesn't show up" do you mean on Playback AND Library or just one of these?
