Problem: Loopback with Headphone Jack and Web Radio
#1
Just for information...

Something I noticed in testing mpd_oled. On a fresh install of Moode 8.3.2 on a Pi4 (before istalling mpd_oled), I set the headphone jack as output (although I think it is the same with HDMI) and played some web radio stations, and all was fine. After setting loopback to on, nearly all the webradio station (e.g. Sub.FM) fail to play with an ALSA error, one that is unaffected is Radio 1 (for outside UK). After turning loopback to off everything is fine again. The next part is less sure, as I was just trying to get some working audio, but after testing with a USB soundcard, and then unplugging it, the issue was gone, and the headphone jack worked fine for all stations with loopback set to on (but mpd_oled was installed by then).

The behaviour is the same on a fresh install of 8.3.3 (but I didn't add a USB audio device, so don't know if that still fixes things). Here is the error for SubFM on a Pi4 with output to the headphone jack and loopback enabled

Thats the Loopback oddity with integrated Pi audio. It doesn't seem to work with 44.1K sample rate, at least in the config we use in moOde.

Try setting MPD SoX to:
- Enabled=Yes
- Sample rate (kHz)=48 or higher

ETA: I'll mention this in the help
Enjoy the Music!
