Hello fellow moOde-ies...

I am a long term Raspberry Pi and cmus user.

Gave moOde a whirl and I like it!  Especially after discovering the mpc (command line) interface for the mpd component of moOde.

Music has been extraordinarily important to me, my whole life.  I had 3,000 plus vinyls that I hauled around for most of my life, but recently gave them up, save for about 100.

I have a radio show that features mostly 'jazz/new-age' music, that I do for an FM station in Las Cruces, NM once a week as well.

Hoping to learn more on using mpc to manipulate the mpd database of tunes.

Currently have a Moode instance on a Pi4 w/ HifiberryDigi for the main stereo/speaker system and another running on a separate Pi4 with an IQAudIO dacplus that feeds my Hedaphone amp, out to Focal Elear cans.

Also have a HiFiberry DAC2 Pro (outputs balanced via XLR) that I have not been able to get working with the latest bought Pi4.   The pie refuses to recognize the card.  Have not had time to "try everything" but will get back to that task soon :-)

Cheers!

@JazzVinyl

Welcome from another former resident of the Land of Enchantment (now in Maryland).

Sad to hear that you like I chose to give up your LPs. Hope you got a better deal than I did but I was downsizing at a time when my favorite new/used sellers were buried in them. Ended up donating everything but a couple for sentimental reasons.

Enjoy the music.

Kent

Hello Kent....

Thanks, and...

Sold all my LP's on Ebay and got pretty prices for them! It was a lot of work, but worth it in the end as I really wanted to get each LP to someone who would appreciate it.

I do not miss them as much as I thought I would :-)

Kept about 100 ECM label LP's and a few that I felt sentimentally attached to.

BTW, Kent...I have relatives in Damascus, Maryland. Spent a lot of time there in my youth (1960's), when it was a tiny town that seemed "very distant" from Wash DC

Nice. I lived 20 miles south of Damascus (yeah, Jimmie Cone!) in Gaithersburg for many decades. Recently moved up the road to Frederick. All three town have grown tremendously .

I didn’t have the time (or energy) to try to sell everything via eBay. Sigh.

Kent, it is indeed a small world if you know about Jimmie Cones! Familiar with Fredrick as well.

And yes the Ebay for LP sales was a lot of work! Only lost two to poor handling by USPS. Lost a few more because people would photograph the trashed out copy they got from the local thrift store...and claim it was the LP I sent them!

Ouy!
